For this little aviator, traveling the world is important! When I got the chance to travel to India with Benjamin and Kristina to see the factory that makes my Little Aviator products, I couldn’t wait!
I heard that the factory was eco-friendly. This is important because we all have to do our part to protect the planet. Even as a kid, the choices that you make have a big impact on Earth. It’s up to us to protect our home!
I was excited to go on this brand-new adventure and meet the nice people who are bringing my brand to life. Also, I had never been to India, so this was the chance of a lifetime!
Touring the Factory
After arriving in India, we took a tour of the factory and met the people who work on my Little Aviator products. Everyone was so friendly, and you could tell that they put a lot of love into what they do!
The nice people showed us around and explained all of the steps that they take to be eco-friendly. They even took me to see the giant solar panels that power the factory using the power of the sun! While I didn’t understand exactly how it works, it was still an amazing sight to see.
Learning About Screen Printing Firsthand
While touring the factory, the workers also showed me how screen printing is done. It looked complicated, but it was fun to see how clothing is made. From what they showed me, there are seven basic steps that bring my Avi, the Little Aviator, products to life:
- Cleaning and drying the GOTS-certified cotton.
- Turning the cotton into thread.
- Using the thread to make fabric.
- Dying the fabric.
- Stitching the fabric together to make Avi products.
- Ironing the fabric.
- Passing a quality check to ensure that all Avi products are of high quality.
Now that I’ve seen the factory and learned about the creation process, I’m more eager than ever to get the final products. The visit really made me appreciate the work that goes into making Avi clothes.
India Has an Exciting and Welcoming Culture
While the main purpose of our trip to India was to tour the factory that makes Little Aviator clothing, we got to learn a lot about India’s culture too! It’s always great to learn about the different cultures that people celebrate around the world!
We got to experience just how welcoming the people of India can be. The owner of the factory that we visited treated us to a traditional dinner with his family. I had never eaten traditional Indian food and was surprised at how good it was. I can’t wait to go back and have more!
If there’s anything that could compare to the delicious Indian food, it was the beauty of the land. Many elements came together to make this land unique, from the fun and vibrant colors to the traditional saris that the women wear. It was amazing to see the culture of another land firsthand.
Coming Home
As with any trip, the end was bittersweet. I would have loved to spend more time exploring India and what it has to offer. I can’t wait to go back and see more of this amazing country. Next time, I’ll get to see the families who work the fields where the organic cotton for my clothing line is grown. I’ve never seen a cotton field before. I can’t wait!
This is just the start of my adventures. Keep checking my blog for more trips and insight with me, Avi!
